Coleman 2 burner white gas. Extremely dependable, no bottles to mess with, and completely portable. I have a flint igniter installed, so no matchers are needed. It's probably had about 100+ hours put on per year since I bought it at a flea market in 1976. No idea what year it actuall is, but it looked old when I bought it.

Mine are all single mantle, white gas colemans. Do have one of the newer style tube mantle ones. No propane for me....

I have propane and coleman. All are dual mantle. Pound for pound, coleman fuel gives you more heat/energy than propane and that is what I used when I packed in. Around camp at the trailer I mostly use the propane with bottles I refilled or connect one to a 20 Lb tank. Maybe it is just me,but the propane lanterns seem to give everything a stinky odor in camp.
As for the dual fuel colemans.I found that regular gas cruds up the generators faster. So I replaced all of mine and now only use coleman fule or euivalent

Two of Coleman's best, the late, great, red colored single mantle white gas lanterns. Had a double mantle Coleman but found it didn't give off much more light than the single mantles but used more fuel. Gave it away to a friend. Single mantle red colored Colemans for me. See one at a garage/estate sale: buy it! L.W.

You name it, I got it and have used them all for over three decades.
I have Coleman double mantle and single mantle lanterns. I have a couple of propane double mantle lanterns and a small single mantle propane lantern. I own a couple small butane lanterns. I own fluorescent lantern and an LED lantern. I even own a candle lantern.
I prefer propane in the big wall tent because it is so convenient.
I also use the butane lanterns in the big wall tent for task lighting, but on a cold morning, it takes them a while to warm up before they start working properly.
I use the electric lanterns (fluorescent and LED) inside the sleeping tents. I also took them on an Alaska drop hunt, this year.
I haven't used the Coleman lanterns in a long time because I've gotten tired of pumping. Also they are prone to getting clogged even when using only Coleman fuel.
The candle lantern is worthless.

I have a dual fuel dual mantle coleman. I have a dul mantle propane (not as bright) and a century single mantle propane(POS).
The dual fuel one is the best of the bunch.

I have one of those and the piezo electric starter only worked for a few starts. It doesn't work any longer and now I just use a match to light it same as the others.

We have a 20lb propane bottle and tree that runs both cookstoves and a lantern screwed on top of the tree. When the generator's running we have a 3 bulb light string, 2 in the tent, 1 on the porch plugged in.

tmax, no slam on you, but I absolutely hate fuggin' generators........Hate having to lissen to 'em from others, in close quarters camps. Same goes, with having to see outside lites at all hours........ Far as I'm concerned, the boom boxes in the partiers camps should stay home as well. It is camping after all. Not downtown central.
