well... I'm trying to get hold of a friend of mine that has one of these parked behind his house. he's been dragging cars & trucks home from his dad's old farm & getting rid of them. I stopped by his place to look at a 1970 f100 2 wheeler he had out front for sale & I spotted this old 1960 ford behind the house. he wasn't home so i didn't look at it but i'll stop by tonight & talk to him I actually think the truck is probably a 2wd but I'm sure I could pick up a 70's vintage 4x4 with a nast rotted cab cheap & swap the body over. man that would be bad ass. these trucks are so ugly they just tug at my heart strings heavy sheetmetal in them, i love how they have a step built into the door sill as you climb up into the truck.

Looks like my folks' plow truck, except it has a flatbed. It's an old Forest Service truck. With all four chained up that thing is pretty much unstopable. It it always starts too even when it's really cold. I don't know if all of them had these, but it has giant zipper pockets in the door panels. Did I mention it has an 8-track tape player?
Huntin' season yet?

Very wrong.

so tough to beat the looks of a 72 chev 4x4.
my neighbor has a 3/4 GMC 4x4 I think it's a 72, that era anyways.

Oh they seem to have way better metal in them than the following generation of the chevy trucks.
It seems more often that you find a solid 67-72 GM than it is a 73-79.
But in my parts a 4x4 GM in that vintage is rare. Don't know why.
