I fixed a nice 5 pound beef roast. My usual method, of using the mortar and pestle to grind garlic, fresh black peppercorns, kosher salt and olive oil. This gets smeared all over the meat, and then I oven roast it at 275 for a bit over an hour. I want to see 135F inside.
Asparagus with lemon butter, and a salad of vine ripe tomatoes, sliced and layered with fresh basil leaves, and fat hunks of buffalo Mozzarella. That gets drizzled with EVOO, and sprinkled with a bit of my world renowned herb mix.
Wife and I split a bottle of our favorite Argentine Malbec, by Norton.

Spaghetti and a tossed salad. We are slovenly; we just start out with a jar of sauce and add some hamburger that we have added some vegetables to.

My folks came over so I fired up the XL Big Green Egg and took the Mortons approach. Had a tray lined with hamburgers, filets, ribeyes, salmon and marinated chicken breast. Pick what you wanted, the portion and I grilled it. Was a fun and different approach to a selective process. Needless to say everybody picked something different. One sister is a total vegetarian so she got grilled veges.
Sides included baked beans, potato salad, roasted corn on the cob, baked potatoes, slaw, and some various salsas.
Just nice to have both parents and sisters over for a win with the Redskins! Especially, on a 78 degree Indian Summer kind of day. Grill while you can!!
Thanks for asking.

Nothing fancy here, but tasted great! Had homemade taco soup topped with shredded cheddar and tortilla chips to scoop with, washed down with an ice cold Diet Coke. Desert was a handful of small Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Gonna have a Wii bowling tournament with the kids in a bit.

Swan is good. On of the few (maybe the only) breast meats I've had that is closer to dark meat in color.
You look really really cold there Ms. Lynn..

Trying a new Bar-B-Que steak recipe. Grill it, Braise it, finish it on the grill.
Salad, and a good Cabernet
