Hey Wabo that's grat man!! fantastic!! Oh boy am I shot. We had a great weekend, too much to cover in a quick post, there was some good hunting, good carpentry, good cookin, good eat'n.. Well like stated already, Ryan hung a fawn on the pole, then Justin hung a buck on the pole (7 pointer, neat deer) Then tonight I hung a doe on the pole. Everybody had left & I had trecked far back to the most hateful stand we had been calling the sniper stand on a dreadful clearcut. Well tonight I renamed it the "Oh chit! stand" Because if you shoot one back there the first thing you say to yourself is "oh chit! how am i going to get this thing out of here!!??" Well I drug her about half ways out with my belt around her neck & my rifle cross slung... Bad stuff, really bad stuff. I drug it through the worst stuff then made my way back to the cabin in the dark & got CBF's ATV (mine was at home) then runs with scossors went out with me to get her. She's hanging on the pole out there now. I'll try to get some pictures up, great weekend, pics will help explain some of the other progress type stuff.
Something clever here.

Well here's the first thing I saw when I got to camp on Friday. Muffy surprised us with this fantastic gift to the cabin. This little table is awesome I love it!! By the end of Friday's hunt we had these critters hung up. And we got these boards up on the walls today. And by the end of the night I had this flat head back to camp & hanging where the other 2 were earlier.
Something clever here.

yep, 264-ish indeed. kills deers deader than heck. She was skirting a cedar woods right behind my elevated stand, I had to do a heck of a sneaky twist around contortion type move to get on her. She was behind a tree broadside with neck, head & shoulder just peeking past the tree. I snuck that 140 Win powerpoint as tight at I could to that tree to get a shoulder shot that was a bit more forward than I typically like to place them. I must have burned bark off that tree trying to get the shot I wanted It worked, pass through, took both shoulders. She went maybe 20 yds tops & she was dead before her forward momentum came to rest. Bad, bad, bad spot thought I almost didn't shoot her just because of the location I was in. But it worked out, she's hangin & it's mid 20's temps right now, cooling off nicely.

Dragging one through that crap on the sniper stand....must suck. They are much easier when they go under Ryan's stand. Any other sightings for the weekend?

Good job Camp Chickenbuck! Also, I love the table. It definitely fits.
Good to see the .264 WM get bloodied. Now to get some hyper-accurate handloads going in that bad boy...

Wabo, kudos to the nephew. That Marlin is working overtime. Dave, good tell as usual.Nice fat looking doe.Wayyyy back in somewhere, drag till you want to drop.Been there, dome that.Way to go guy. My neighbor and I went out to the farm he has permission to hunt this evening.Owner showed us a new 80 acre tract that is really deer haven looking.Thick with a nice creek and several food plots. This place has real promise.I sat a ladder stand over a food plot till dark.Saw nothing but had a great evening just being there.First time I took the pistol this year.I really want to blood that pistol.

Dave. great pictures. Congrats on the Doe. Sounds like the clear cut by the snipers stand not so clear. Really like the table. Maybe we can get Muffy to do some more and sell them to the rest of us so we can all have a little piece of Camp Chickenbuck?

That's funny, we were talking about the clothing line this weekend. I believe it will happen!
Nice doe Dave! I've been to the sniper stand and I would hate to drag anything out of there, especially in the dark. I was there when you and CBF put the stand up. I remember asking CBF how in the h@#* would you get a deer out of there.
I still can't believe CBF shot that buck at over 500 yards! Great shooter!!
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.
