I was worried about the 110ttsx I loaded up for my son.I thought they would make a big mess of a deer shot up close. He ended up shooting a small WT doe at 30 ft after a great stalk through the timber. What I found was the LEAST amount of bloodshot meat that I have encountered on an animal to date. Now I am no hunting/killin machines like some guys but I was quite pleasently supprised at the result

I've also found far less actual bloodshot meat from running the light TSX at higher speeds.

The meat is not physically destroyed, and the "bloodshotting" is simple to wash or wipe off from in between the muscle groups and from under the membranes.

The fast TSX for me has been a much better meat bullet than any cup and core at any speed, including even reduced loads.

Lots and lots of people that I know eat their venison, and many of us process it all ourselves.

Pretty sure Weatherby's personal favorite was the .257...as in killing a Cape buffalo with one.

I intend getting some of Federal's new loads with 110 TSXes for my old Mountain Rifle, but it may not be soon enough for this season.

I used 100gr .270's for coyotes years ago. I picked up a Ruger #1 in .270WBY a few years back. I have since bought 3 boxes of factory Weatherby .270WBY 100gr for $20ea. I haven't shot any yet to see if they group, but they should be hummers.

Im a fan of the 110TTSX in the .270 and it is not as bad in the wind as some would think. I dont have my charts infront of me but the difference in drift is not that much until past 500yards. Either one will produce a gut shot if you blow your wind call.

I would have no problems going up to 600-800 pounds with the combo by choice. I would likely reach for the .35 whelen for anything bigger than that and realisticly its for the feel good factor over real performance differences.

Hunt hard, kill clean, waste nothing and offer no apologies.

Years ago I loaded up some Speer Hot-Cor 100gr. bullets in my 270 Win.. I wanted to duplicate .25-06' specs. for deer in my 270. I shot one deer behind the shoulder and the bloodshot was terrible---never used them again for that. New bullets today are probably much better but I think I'll stick with a 130gr. in my gun. Shoots flat--hits hard.
