so what do you guys think of a 25wssm necked up to 7mm?
my buddies dad just went through the process of necking up his brass and getting his m70 re-barreled in 7wssm he has only shot it a couple times at 25yards, it seems to shoot ok from what he has told me. i cant wait to see what he comes up with, and how this performs.
should be interesting.
though i really do not see any advantage of this. other then being different.

I really want to do one in that and .338. Of course the only real advantage would be the super short action. It would be pointless if you were doing it on a regular short action.

The Indiana boys necked it up to 35 to respond to an arcane caliber restriction for deer hunting.

i had never heard of anyone doing this. neither had he...that is why he did it. just cause "he could"
anyway, it shoots 3/4" at 100yards. no idea of the fps but its a good shooter. so it was well worth the money and time to form brass.

Mike Milli at Dtech is chambering about any bore size of wssm in his AR's a person would want. You might want to contact him, if an AR is of interest, but he would probably also be able to tell you something about a caliber you might be interested in. He posts on the AR forum and that would be a good place to post an inquiry or look him up for a PM. He uses Dtech for his handle here.

Tom, Now that sounds like fun! I have a few obscure necked up and down calibers that are a lot of fun to shoot and hunt with. Best of luck with your .358 WSSM. Good shooting, Marcus.

Tom,
Interesting looking cartridge...How does it compare balistically to say the .358win or the .35 Whellen?
Regards,
Peter

About equal.
Right now with fairly light-medium loads I'm getting the 225 Accubonds to 2400 fps others have exceeded 2600 fps.
I will be experimenting with loads a bit more this coming spring and summer.
