I'm just wondering if I have that crappy of luck to never get a good push feed rifle!! Is there such a thing? My weatherby vanguard that I just bought doesn't extract the shell every time. Is this a common problem or should I send the darn thing back to weatherby and have them fix it? I grew up using a m1917 (aka 1917 enfield, p-17, or what ever else you want to call it). The damn thing functioned flawlessly and that is just what I am used to. I've had countless amounts of ruger 77s and some mausers that were all good shooters, but the ones I've had problems with are the push feeds. I had a remington 700 BDL (absolutely beautiful gun) that liked to fire on it's own, the post 64 winchester with the plastic follower had feeding problems from hell, and now the weatherby with it's extraction problems. I want to hear from some of you guys on what I should do besides sell the pos to some sorry sucker that loves push feeds.

You must just have bad luck. I have never had a problem with any Remington 700's that I have owned or My 1 Vanguard. I don't even know anyone that has had an extraction problem with either one.

Send it back.

All I asked for is some positive feedback from some knowledgable people on this forum. There's nothing hard about running a bolt action rifle. I should of known better.

Thinking you'd require an Ipod with 'breath in, breath out' playing constantly to make it through the day.

Not sure why that was so difficult for skippy to figure out. I'd first contact Wtby.

Or I could do a long as hell paragraph rant that would accomplish nothing except show my ass.

My wife has no issues with her unit (270). Send it back or try for an exchange where it was purchased.

I had one in the shop about a week ago. There is a spring under the back side of the extractor that was missing.

I have a Vanguard 30-06 that had extraction problems at first. After 2 boxes of ammo the problem went away. Some of the people here on the forum thought that it might have had a burr that limited travel of the extractor. My 257 Weatherby Vanguard worked perfectly from the beginning. They are both very accurate.

Before sending it back, you might want to shoot it a little more.
