OK guys, I found 4 99's in a little shop near home. They were all different 3 were real nice, and 1 was real nice, but had a cracked stock on the left side, where it meets the reciever.
I worte down all the serial #'s but left them at home.
He told me I could get any of them for $100 less than listed.I will list the tag price, not what I should be able to get them for.
.22-250 99c Clip, D&T, sling swivels $750
.308 Win 99a Tang safety, aluminum or steel rotary mag, D&T, straight grip stock, swivels, not great wood, but real clean, no dents or dings in it. Short bbl, I'd guess 20-21" $700
.300 sav,(2) No markings, but from what I can tell, they're F's. Both D&T, both come with scopes, one has a recoil pad installed, and the stock was shortened, the other has the cracked stock I mentioned eariler. Both have nice case hardened levers, brass rotary mags, both decent bluing. Both $700.
They all had cheap scopes, and all but the .308 had tip off mounts.
The .308 would be my first choice, it appeared to be the nicest, and least used.
That price listed seems to be pretty normal for what the 99's are going for around here.
Are they way out of line? Does any one have a better value than the others?
Thanks a bunch guys.

That 99C is a steal.
Edit: Just from a going price point of view. The F's seem a bit high for the faults (F's in 300 are pretty common), and never had a 99A so can't rank that.

Thanks a bunch guys. PERSONALLY I would pass on all 3. The 22-250 ONLY because that caliber in a 99 doesn't "turn me on" and secondly, and this is JUST me, I don't care for clips on a 99. 99-A would be OK, but the saddlegun is a tang safety and again, doesn't do allot for me. The 2 "F"s are fairly easy to find and the turn off here for me are the faults, along with the prices. I think the A should be $500/$525. The 2 "F"s would be more in line with $450/$550. I would go with the one with the crack, if it is repairable. Honestly though, there are better ones out there. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks guys.
The F with the crack...is a pretty big crack. More than a hairline, about 2 or 21/2" long.
Lots of F's so they didn't do much for me.
The .308 seemed the most useable.
The .22-250 had a cool factor in it.

That 22-250 is a very fair price.
the 2 f's between 350-425.00 with problems listed. the "A" is also a fair price but 575.00 to 650.00 dollar range would be more in line from what i have seen. Sam

Thanks Sam. The A could be had for $650 pretty easily, probably more like 6. I like the .22-250. I don't have a big use for one, but what does that have to do with anything.

If the 22-250 is in nice shape, pick it up.. shoot it for a year.. then sell it and pocket the extra $$.

Never ceases to amaze me what 22-250's go for in the U.S.
I passed on one up here for $575 last year cause I already had one and it can shoot clover leafs at 200 all day so why would I need another one I figured.
The sling studs on the one your looking at are after market, the 99C's weren't studded the years they made the 22-250.

They aren't as crazy as they were for a while. Been a shooter on aa for under $900 go a couple of rounds with nobody biting. But a really clean one still brings in quite a bit more than $650.

OK guys, I have a little more info.
I'm really starting to like one of the .300's that I mentioned.
the ss# 759xxx .300 sav. Nice stock, no cracks, D&T w/scope (cheap), and swivels installed, recoil pad, an old one, but well done.
I can get it for $600.

If you like it,,,,,,,,,,,go for it,,,,,,,,JMO. It will do everything a .308 will out to, and MAYBE a touch further, 200 yds. or so. I have never had a deer walk away from any of my .300's.

that's good news. Not too many places I hunt I can shoot to 100, so long range isn't really an issue. not that 200 is long range, but you know what I mean.
