Does anyone have any insight or experience about/with T/C New Englander .50 cal? I don't want an inline just for personal & traditional reasons.

They're about like any other T/C sidelock in terms of quality and accuracy, which is to say they're very good.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

I have one that I have used every year since the mid 80's. Never went to an in-line cause I liked the sights and it shoots so well. It does not like sabots but shoots the old lubed TC bullets very, very well with 110 grains equivalent of Pyrodex.
All of my friends laugh at it and ask when I am going to upgrade, but she still shoots, my eyes are still good, and it is fun.

Mine is the .54 cal version. I have taken two black bears with it and plan on using it for Texas Whitetails during the MZ season. VERY accurate with patched round balls!

Thank you gentlemen. I am planning on finding a T/C New Englander in .50 cal. I had a Renegade some years ago in .54 cal and traded it. I miss having an ML around and really like the features of the T/C NE. Round ball it is.

Found one on GB. Now if only USPS will do their job and get my payment there. He's hoping it will be as nice as it looks.

Finally arrived and it's a winner. Now to acquire the necessary accessories. I'll strip it completely to clean, inspect and lube. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
