I'm needing to buy front and rear ATV tires (trail type). What's the better brands and which brands do I stay away from? What internet site is the best?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

There's many good tires out there, if money isnt a problem I would go with Maxxis Bighorn's, I am running ATP Mudlites on a 650 Kawi Prairie and Carlisle Badlands radials on a 700 Polaris, and I am happy with both of these for traction and ride

I have had the Bighorns on my last two atv's and they wear very well. On my old grizzly I got over 5000 miles and still had 40% tread left. On the new griz have 4500 miles and about 60% left.

I'll second that, i've got 26x9x12" Xl's on my Foreman and they are great tires, i even use them in the winter without chains to plow my driveway. Wear has been real good, i've had them since about 05 and I'd bet they still have 85% of their tread left. I ride everything from hard pack trail to rocky creekbeds to muskeg laden tundra and they continue to perform.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

What terrain are you primarily going to be riding in,it makes a huge difference as to which tire would be the better choices.

I like the mudlites, and ITP 589's, but they're both hell on a lawn.
On a trail, there's nothing better IMO.

On a trail, there's nothing better IMO. I prefer Zillas, mudrunners or mudlite XTRs for an all around tire that will see some deep mud,and some hard terrain.

I've run Maxxis Bighorns, ITP 589's, and Mudlite XTR's and they're all great, but my favorite is the Maxxis Bighorn's (radial). Best part is, Rocky Mountain ATV is 30 minutes from home, so no shipping!

Anybody use Hole Shot ATR's?
They were the cream for a while, and haven't heard much about them lately.

The Goodyear Mudrunners have a good reputation of being great in the mud and yet still having good trail manners.

The Goodyear Mudrunners have a good reputation of being great in the mud and yet still having good trail manners. They are heavy as are the XTRs,but they work great in all conditions. For a smaller atv,the zillas are quite a bit lighter and easier to turn.Bighorns work well in harder terrain, but they fall behind in deep mud,and are not at all well suited to muskeg.

The 589's are a real heavy tire, had them on a Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4 and talk about a rough ride on hardpack terrain but get them in the mud and that's where they shine. I've got 2 buddies that have them on their rigs, a Rubicon and a Foreman and they don't like them because they are too heavy. The Rubi drives like a tank and I don't know how my bud can ride that thing all day.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
