Looking to sell this nice walnut-stocked K31. As usual, all numbers match and the bore is shiny. Bluing has honest wear.

I refinished the stock myself, the cartouche is still there. What looks like a crack in the photo is sealed solid.

Includes the muzzle cover and a couple of those paper strippers. If I can find the sling I'll include it too. Sorry, no name tag came with this one.

$300 shipped.

For some reason I have a hard time taking good pics of this rifle. Let me know if you need a different view.

looks very clean and you did not over do the refinishing. How does it shoot?

Free bump.

I can't say I've ever shot it for a concentrated group but it's basically in the same neighborhood as the three other K31s I've had. The K31s are among the best shooting of the milsurps based on the inherent quality and the regular maintenance resulting in very nice bores. If you look at how these things are put together it's just amazing; I can't imagine what it would cost to build them today.

Nice looking stock job. I guess money is tight for most during the holidays.

Thanks. Yep, lots of better uses for money right now, but doesn't hurt to try.

What is the sighting arrangement on these rifles? Is the trigger typical 2 stage milspec?

Sights are a nicely machined open rear tangent and a front post with "wings" on it for protection.

Trigger is two stage with a long takeup and a pretty crisp letoff for a military gun. The gun is way over-enginered for its purpose IMO, but that's the Swiss for you.

Dear Sir. I was reading your ad and became interested. Is your rifle still available? If so would you be so kind to go over it's condition with me again. How would you rate the following questions % wise. 1.)Metal, any rust or pitting? 2.)Bore,is it bright and shiney? How are the lans & grooves? 3.(Mechanicaly speaking, is it smooth operating? 4.) When you shot it was it accurate and at what range as well as what type of ammo did you use, i.e., Miltary or commerical? 5.) are all the numbers matching? Finally anything else you can tell me about the rifle and it's condition overall and if possiable the year of mfg. would be of great interest. Thank you for your time. Kindest Regards, Rick Sr. Ret. Rick, In response to your questions:

1. No rust or pitting, bluing is worn from years of honest use.
2. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling, wouldn't say it's perfect but awful nice.
3. All mechanical functions are fine. The Swiss took very good care of their rifles.
4. Rifle was generally as accurate as other K-31s. I don't have any records, but this is my last of 4 K-31s and they were all about the same, but I don't recall ever focusing on shooting groups with any of them. Ammo has been Swiss surplus GP11, which is noncorrosive and practically match quality, and some mild handloads of my own.
5. Yep, all matching, most K-31s are that I've seen.

Some other info in the posts above. S/N is 824XXX which correlates to 1944 manufacture.

Thanks for the interest.
