Listened to two packs howling at each other a couple of weeks ago. One pack was on the north side of the Tar River, the other on the south side, both in Edgecombe County NC.

I saw two Saturday.
I couldn't get them to slow down for a decent shot.

I see them all year every year. Some stay to visit.
Saw a chupacabra the other night for the first time in my life and could not get a clean shot, and then life got in the way and who knows when I can try to find that thing back...

Saw one bunch of five this year and another bunch Friday of 4. We will be looking on them in late winter.

We had a bunch around this year. I even had on come trotting in front of the camp while I was sitting on the porch at 1:45 in the afternoon.

Last year very very few. This year we see a half dozen on every outing. The wife even got a couple of good photos while I was away elk hunting. Anytime one gets the eyes, I consider it a good picture.

Had one come running down a creek bed, right below my stand, just as I was getting settled into it one afternoon. Essobee got by me so fast I couldn't get a shot off. Dammit! Maybe will get the bastard after deer season is over.
Still gotta get a deer.

I saw one back in October and had him at less than 5 yds. tried to draw on him than stop him. He was moving too fast and his head popped out the other side of the tree he was behind faster than I could draw.....he saw me and skidaddled.

Killed one Friday morning while on deer stand. Been hearing the yotes all season long and not seeing the usual number of deer. I think they have got some of the deer run off. What do yall think?

Seen one on opening morning for gun season. Was too thick to shoot at him. He was trying to get a turkey sandwich.

The question itself tells something about where we're from. I saw 5 in 40 minutes of driving one day last week. Had another one come in when I was calling for mule deer. My favorite one this year was balled up a few yards off the road in blowing snow as we drove through Montana on our way to hunt antelope. He was a fluffy one with snow starting to drift around him to form a nest.
Yep, my deer season ends tomorrow. Time to start calling toothy and furry critters.
1minute: That's a GREAT photo your wife took! Thanks!

I saw 3 last season, 2 of which were headed toward the sound of turkeys talking. The third was a mangy thing I relieved of its misery. I didn't see any this year but I was only on stand a couple of hours before tagging out. Two were seen by members of my group opening morning.

I'm wondering if the west nile virus killing off the hawks haven't bolstered the yote populations

Didn't actually see any but heard a pile of them.
I killed a buck in Saskatchewan this year at straight-up 12 noon & covered him up with spruce branches. It took about 40 minutes or so to hike to the 4-wheeler & another hour on the trails back to camp. Had a late lunch & by the time we got back to the deer it was getting dark. In those 4 hours, either coyotes or wolves had it completly eaten from the ribs back..only hair left.
And 1minute...That truly is a world-class photo your wife took!!!
