A friend's husband passed away and in his possession was an old Marlin 93 with a 4 digit serial number and the Phrase " Special Smokeless" Can anyone provide a good source for information on value, production date etc.....

Thanks,

Robert

This information was posted for me regarding my 93 in this forum:

"Model 93: 1921 or 22 to 1935.
30-30, 32-40, 32HPS, 38-55
Early serial numbers are located under the receiver just behind the forearm. Later numbers are on the lower tang under the lever. Serial numbers have A, C,C suffix, and L. L prefix Model 93 serial numbers were 1935 production"

Hope it helps.

As too value too much depends on condition, it can be a few hundred to a few thousand

Romac,

Thanks for the info.

This rifle has the number on the receiver just behind the forearm but does not have an A,C or L near the serial number.

You'll probably have to be more descriptive. It would also help if you started your own topic, you would get more responses.

With the info Supplied I would only be Guessing, But my GUESS on its age would be Pre-1900, 1892 possibly?
