You run it all. Any firearms company in the world, and your going retro. What rifle, or model do you bring back into production.

I'd bring back the original (smooth bolt handle) wood/blued Rem 700 Mountain Rifle. Offer it in the standard lineup, but in order to stimulate sales to loonies, for another $100 you can get it in any short, or long action cartridge you desire (222, 257Rob, 257 AI, 6.5x55, 7x57, 280AI, 338-06...) A marketing angle that would work today.

Nowhere near a classic, but for me nothing felt better in my hands. I had a 270 Win that was MOA, or less with most handloads. Sold it and others to get married. Dumbest two things I ever did.

1) a scaled-down-in-size rimfire line for the Ruger #1 series
with upgraded wood, in all calibers.

2) color cased receiver option on Ruger #1A light sporters, and
offer them in .250savage, .257roberts, 7mm/08 , .375win,
358win (or maybe .350mag)

2) walnut stocked Remington Model 7 Stainless rifles, all the
usual caliber options, PLUS .250savage, 7mm BR, and
221fireball

3) like to see Model 70 supergrades offered in short action.

A scaled down Ruger 77 or Win 70, the right size for the 223 family, like the CZ 527, Sako 461, and Zastava's Mini-Mauser.

For retro, two choices:

A modernized Savage 20, classic walnut stock, 250-3000

A 1903 Springfield, redesigned slightly internally to fix weaknesses in the original design, in 256 Newton.

The Browning A-Bolt, in the WSSM calibers. smile smile

Seriously, put me down as another who wold like to see the model 99 come back. Seems to me with CNC stuff it could now be done. For calibers I would desire the 250/3000 and the 358 Win.

Winny model 52 with good wood and grooved for a scope would be nice.

Winchester could make runs of thier classic model 70's in some cool retro calibers that many of us pine for such as 300H&H and 264 Win Mag.

+1!

I've had many folks try to talk me out of my 7x57 Mountain Rifle! Nothing wrong with the new LSS models, but the walnut/blued models are just far prettier.

Winchester Mod.71. with the technology behind Hornadys Levereveloution bullets and what this may bring about in the future just seems to make this one a natural for me.

Bring back the M700 ADL SS MTR (and make damn sure it has a 22 inch bbl).

Forget the current SS MTR with the ungodly heavy laminated stock (heavy stock, skinny barrel, with a hinged floorplate--how much sense does that make?).

Forget the now grossly overpriced Ti Alaskan.

Give me a light rifle with a blind box mag, in SS, even the plastic ADL stock ain't that bad (and I can make it better anyway). Plus it can't possibly cost Remington anymore than a SPS to manufacture.

We may not agree on cars but but I'll second both of these motions with an amendment we add the 284 Win and 300 Savage to the 99.
