Not sure when we are coming up there, I have to talk to dad. Don't know what we are doing for new years. We usually have a whist party, but I have not planned it yet.

The fish house didn't get out yesterday. The guys took out the crappy heater and put in a different one. Our friend had one just sitting in his garage, so that worked out well. But it is going out today. WOO HOO!!

It's a beautiful day here already...it was 25* at 630 when I came to work this morning. I hope it stays clear, we're headed to Duluth for the flamily Christmas'.

Actually I think we'll be in Duluth over new years, so that weekend would be out for us.

walleyes are spilling into the ice houses up here on the walleye factory.

Close family friend went on Wednesday, they got back last night. Crazy, silly, sick full of eyeballers. His reports weren't different from yours Dave. Couldn't keep off the ice.

I got a perch, and the neighbor got another rock bass. Other than that, nothing.

Stinking bait stealin' rock bass.

Get that thing up on LOW. Walleye's are jumpin' through the holes. Don't even need tip up's. Just drill the holes, they'll come to you.

About 8 years ago Jeremy and I were out on Lake 7 and we were catching perch. Then I got a bite and I thought it was a perch, but no it was not. It didn't fight at first, but then it took line like crazy. We knew it was a walleye, we got a good look at it. Jeremy has a 9 inch auger and he reached in the hole and got a hold of the gills. His hand and the head of the fish filled the hole. But it twisted just right and got away, the line broke and there he was, gone. I named him Walter. I dont know if anyone ever cought him or not. All I know is that he would have been a wall hanger. I was trembeling after that one.

Dang slippery walleyes! I've had that happen to northern's but not walleyes. I've never caught a big walleye through the ice. Biggest was probably 24 or so.

went out last night, got skunked but had a blast with the two friends who went with me. we're gonna try again tonight, maybe something will happen, at least the house is out now.

we paid a guy out there to drill our holes for us, all 10 of them!

its been a slow morning around here after the proper "break in" procedure last night. I reckon we'll head back out in a couple hours. sounds like lake of the woods is the place to be though

There's a place in the twin cities that has all kinds of parts for old outboards, but I don't recall the name. Just maybe they have parts for augers too.
