I found several boxes of Activ shotshells, 20 gauge, 3 1/4 DE 1 1/8 oz. #4 nickel plated in my garage.
Any idea how old they are? Are they or the boxes collectable, either generally, or in W. Va where they were manufactured? Do older loads of nickel plated shot shoot OK, or do they tend to clump together when fired, like older steel shot was known to do?
Thanks!

I don't know if I have ever seen them with nickle plated shot. Are they all plastic cases without the metal at the bottom? I haven't seen Activ shells since probably the early 90s. The only ones I have seen were the all plastic model and they were generally a cost effective target load if you weren't worried about reloading.
With that heavy of a load of shot and nickle plated, that might be another animal entirely. I doubt that their is any collectability, but it should be a good hunting load.

Boy, that's a new one on me too, but they should work fine.

They had a pretty popular turkey load for awhile with that nickel plated shot. They are long gone now. I still have a box of the turkey loads around here somewhere. I doubt there is any value other than in the shooting.
