I have a Remington KS stock made by McMillan with an LOP of 14 7/8 inches and it's about an inch too long for me. Can I cut an inch off and glue a butt pad back on?

Yep, I would have McMillan do it.

Yes you can but it may get messy. With an LOP that long i'm guessing theres spacers back there but i'm not sure. For $66 and return shipping we can mill it an inch shorter and put a new pad on there.

Man that is bargain price to have quality work done back at the factory. That is good to know!

Yeah, only problem is return shipping is about $245. shocked

Just kidding. wink I had the opposite problem and wanted a stock lengthened. McMillan did a very professional job of adding a spacer and replacing the recoil pad.

I bet that McMillan would do a bang up job. Have done quite a few myself, and its really not that bad of a job to do. Just make sure your cut is square and the pad is centered and has plenty of material to bond to.
