I was wondering if anyone here on the site has one or has anyone had one in there hands to check out. They look real slick and the G30 action is suppose to be quite impressive.

Dino- I've only been salivating over them - trying to get BobinNH to spring for one, then tire of it and sell it to me at a huge loss - thus far, he's not smelling what I'm cooking. And, a very Merry Christmas to you.

A 270 ??? I heard that's a good Varmint cartridge or a good youth round !!
Maybe If Bob and I buy one together they will give us a good deal ??
I'm only kidding on the 270 guy's, I know Bob well !!!!!!!
The guns have been making me crazy looking at them, I called Mcmillan and they have several in stock which made me even crazier since I hate waiting for anything. I think one of these guns should be my "New Years" resolution.

Dino, just buy it....you and I will like it.....and then you can sell it at Riley's at a huge loss...I will buy it,shoot it and it will be fabulous... and then sell it to Skane at a huge loss....and everyone will be happy;because I am not content unless I'm taking a beating somewhere And RD "no" I would not buy it in 270 because I already talked to SU35 about those rifles which I think are pretty neat....and you guys'll never guess what caliber I would do it in........ Only SU35 knows and he has taken blood oath not to disclose so you gotta guess.Haha!

Robert- I hope it's the 300 WSM in the PRODIGY. Of course, I'd have no qualms with the 270WSM or 7mm if you choose to go that route. Please expedite the acquisition, I'd like to have it in time for hunting season next year.

Scott:No it will "mo betta" than a 300WSM....30 cal is so passe,so 20th Century.....kinda like lobbing 45/70 slugs at LR....know what I mean? Cause we are so "enlightened" on here,we can't be seen running around with a mere 30 cal.....cripes nobody will let us hunt using one of those things......booking agents will hang up;pro hunters will secretly avoid us,and Wyoming F&G will not issue licenses......terribly uncouth.... Dino, step on it will ya? Scott needs the rifle!

I just wanted to add that the folks at McMillan were a real pleasure to do business with. I spoke directly to Kelly McMillan and and his salesman Gerry and both couldn't have been more accommodating. I know when you spend this kind of money for a rifle you should expect that, still it's alway nice to know that you're talking to the actual owner of the company and he's taking his time to assist you with the purchase and answer all my stupid questions.

It's all I can do to keep McMillan Stocks on all these junky Rem, Win, Sako around here let alone get a ready rolled, lock stock and barrel at once.

I've got one on order, an Outdoorsman in .338 Win Mag. OAL 26 inches with brake. Going with the G30 push feed. Should be ready around May or so.
Kelly Mcmillan is a real pleasure to deal with. Mr. Mcmillan offered the use of his personal .338, so I could go on a cow elk hunt in NM this month. I know of no other person/company that would go to that extreme on the basis of several emails and a phone conversation.

That's a lot of money for a plastic stocked rifle.

I couldn't say but I'd rather have it. I built it up for less than $650.00 including the scope and it shoots less than MOA all day long. It's beautiful, light, and a joy to carry.
I just love hunting & all it's traditions. One of those traditions for me is a nice piece of walnut of perfect design and fit.
