I have a S&W 329PD that I have carried in a leather holster for about a million miles it seems. The finish is badly worn off in places. Can I have this refinished with cerakote or something else? What have others done in this situation? Let's see some pictures and options on who and where to have finished. Are there going to be any issues with this since it is not a standard metal. It is hafnium, scandium and titanium.

Thanks,
AM

You can have it re-anodized which is always a good idea for a base coat if you're planning on doing one of the spray on coatings. Since you're wearing the finish off, I'd recommend a plating type solution like Electroless Nickle, NP3, or Hard Chrome. They may look a bit out of place for that revolver, but they will most certainly hold up to holster wear.

I'll bet S&W can refinish it for you. Mine had some finish missing due to the knurled end of the extractor rod rubbing the frame. Smith fixed the extractor rod runout and refinished the spot under warranty.

I personally would leave the battle scars as a sign of a good life.

Just curious if you guys who have this revolver have deactivated the frame mounted key lock.
