a mouse chewed my wires on my Honda Rancher,I fixed it but what can I do to prevent it from happening again ?

Keep several peanut butter baited traps with the atv all the time when it's parked. No guarantee, but you'll catch some of them at least. I've been fighting them in my cars for years and PB is the best preventative I've found.
