I've got a good buddy that is Australian. He was in town last night and we had dinner. My buddy Ross has lived in the US since the mid-90s so he is familiar with US culture. With him was one of his childhood friends that still lives in Brisbane. Ross took his friend to a local gun shop because he knew it would blow his buddy away. At dinner, his buddy went on and on about the US' fascination with guns. He asked me about it it and I talked about our history as a nation, the need to hunt, the contested frontier, the indian wars, the wars with England, our constitutional rights, the western frontier that was contested by the plains tribes and how until early in the 20th century people had to be able to protect themselves from bad men in lightly populated areas. I think I gave him a little insight, but I also came to realize that the US does have a historically based gun culture that many countries do not; we should protect it.

Country music sucks, but the NFA fun at the end put a grin on my face. Funny because as I was watching, I was waiting for the NFA toys and figured they wouldn't show. Might have to delete the audio and save this awsome vid.  Too bad there wasn't more AK footage but oh well.
I'm Libertarian for these 3 reasons:
1.) I'm American
2.) I'm not insane enough to be Democrat
3.) I'm not wussy enough to be Republican
