I want to fix up my late Dad's British 303 Jungle Carbine,what I'm thinking of is some kind of all weather stock....take the flash suppressor off..and have the metal re-done in some kind of all weather finish.I want it to be my "Nasty weather gun"
It already has a scope on it.It's a good shooter, metal is in very good cond....action is as smooth as silk.
Has anyone on here ever done something like this to a Jungle Carbine and if so I'm looking for info on where to buy the kind of stock I'm looking for.
If you have pictures that would be good for some ideas.

Take it to a knowledgeable collector (that you trust) first.
These are valuable is "the real deal".
If they are the Navy arms hack and slash jobs, it shold be a fun project.

well..im a wwii gun collector and i freak out when someone wants to modify a gun like that but i have seen one similar to what you want so i know its possible. i think for the money spent fixing that gun up one could get a stainless synthetic 30-06 or something to have as a nasty weather rifle. those jungle rifles are cool though and carrying rifle that has family ties is kinda cool too. ill check the next show and if i see the gun again ill look it over and let you know who made the stock. hopefully someone on here can help too

It's the real deal, he bought 2 of them back in the early 70's up in Canada.He was out to see my brother who still lives in Minn.right near the boarder,they took a ride into Canada and came back with them.....lol
I remember he said where he bought them the guy had a store room full of them...If I can remember he said he paid 50 bucks each for them.....ahhhhh the good old days....lol

Thanks BMT That's what I have in mind..now if I can find a stock with the cheek rest on the other side.. I'm a lefty...lol or no cheek rest at all would be good.

A friend of mine bought a Santa Fe JC a few years ago
that was missing the safety lever. He paid $40 for it,
had the lever replaced and sold it for $275.

Please, post some pics of that, before you butcher it. You might could get a trade for something that's already done the way you want it done without chopping a (potentially) rather rare carbine.
