Troll? Hardly. Trolls can't match Jim's vast experience or expertise. This smells of the "Attack of the Trolls" to me.

Jim has never struck me as a troll....he has differing opinions on some subjects and gets a kick out of discussion on others but that isnt any different from alot of other members including myself......Jim is a long way from being classified as a troll....

Riaan,

Jim has developed a technique for rattling warthogs using a set of tusks much like American deer hunters rattle up whitetail..

I'm sure Jim will read this and post the video evidence if he still has it, although it has been posted before! grin

Regards,

Peter

You may not like or agree with Jim's opinions, but he is far from a troll and to suggest he is comes from either ignorance or stupidity.

RAC has the video, I thought it was on youtube but I cannot find it Hopefully he will pitch up and give us a link. Wish I had it someplace, but I have had several computers since this was originally posted. It's not on this Macbook so I must have it on another computer.

Okay I lucked into this... it's kinda rough footage on Youtube, but you get the idea.

BFD----You'd need more than 42 posts and an empty suit to convince most of us that you are correct.....

I was shooting a 375H&H from a CZ 550. Load was a 270 grain Swift A-frame @ 2700 fps. I shot him a little far back on the first shot. As it was my first trip to Africa, I succumbed to the American hunters syndrome and was admiring my shot. Fortunately, I was able to recover before he got out of sight. I managed to hit him solid on the 2nd shot and and also got him on the 3rd.

I killed this pig the following year with a 45-70. 400 grain Alaska Bullet Works bonded bullet @ 1800 fps. He ran about 45 yards.

How about, "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

Which part of that does not apply here?

the part where that is their only real mission....Jim has long been helpful on here, hell his persona here is good enough that more than a few have booked hunts with him because of it.....if your gonna call him a troll because of the whole 458 Win versus 45-70 thing half this damn site fit the bill cause most of us have a subject we feel really strongly about....i suggest yah steer clear of the optics forum if this is all it takes for you to label someone a troll....
