Yeah, that's what it means....for now anyway. smile

I'd still like a Swede, but it's on the back burner for now. The 7x57 was on the short list with the Swede, so it's not much of a compromise imo.

Nice haul. That Glock will make a nice carry piece here in MN where they have "shall issue" carry permits. No such luck in Packerland. Those deranged Packer Backers can't be trusted. laugh

I'll have the permit when I get to MN. smile Really, it's a little bit to carry all the time, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. I could sell it to a gun shop and make money on this one.

I'd like a real small .38 or .357 to carry on a regular basis.

Tom, one happy little dude you got there. That Ruger sure didn't see any hard use. Hope it's a good shooter.

He's a happy kid anyway. Real polite too. He's a good kid, but drives me nuts like a boy should do to his dad. smile

He was almost as excited to go through the "fish tunnel" at Cabela's. And of course laughed at the elephant's "junk"...but so did the rest of us. grin

I hope that Ruger is a shooter too Bill. It carries great so far. If I could get 1.5" @ 100, I'd be real happy with it.

I keep a SIG 229 .40 S&W in my SUV. I don't carry on my person all that much here in the TC. If I do it's a full size SIG GSR 1911 45ACP when I can wear a coat and a Beretta Tomcat 32ACP when I can't. You're right about the big guns being a hassle to carry. I have been thinking about a small J frame for a while too.

I found a power head like mine that has a broken recoil, its in Roseau but my buddy is going up there in a couple of days to get a tractor, so he's gonna pick it up. simple switch of the recoils and I'm ready to go this weekend!

Tom, love your choice of rifles., for both you and your son! Do you handload or are you looking to factory stuff for the 7X57?

Thanks Scott.

I'll be using factory stuff for now. One of these day my cheapness will give in and I'll have to get a reloading set up. Maybe now that I have something a bit hard to reload for it will give me a kick in the pants.

I started reloading three years ago.I never got accuracy like I get now.My gunsmith told me that reloading was like a hobby within a hobby and he was correct.

I know full well, it doesn't stop at one cartridge. smile

It is a nice way to get affordable bullets, the improved accuracy is great too. Especially when you can "custom" make loads for guns.
