Good news to report. Nine year old gets here first deer. Extremely cold afternoon (for south Alabama anyway) we get an invite to hunt a friends really nice place. Both sons take a rain check on the offer. Other things to do, too cold, etc. Not her. She raises her hand quickly. Our host tells me to let her shoot whatever she wants...not what they normally allow. She did great. 90yds, 243 100 gr core lock, 1" behind the shoulder. Deer traveled 3 yards. 175# 8 point. Brothers are mad and she lets them know about it. GeorgeS3 from here donated the stock for the youth 700 she used. Thanks George.

Awesome! My 9 year old son shot his first deer (a buck too) this past weekend. It's a great feeling isn't it?

Sweet, this weather is really getting the deer moving in South AL. What part of AL are you hunting?

I hunt just outside Brewton but we are fortunate to have friends with camps all around the southern half. This was in Lowndes County.
