Morning Stan, how's the weather out your way? I have friends heading to Myrtle beach at the end of the month.

Went fishing lastnight, got nothing. Not even a bite. We saw some on the Vexlar but they just wouldn't take the bait.

We got out today. It was cold and slow. Typical WI walleye fishing... lots of flags until 7am, then a few more at 10, then nothing until I left at 2:30pm.

We had about 30 tip ups or so out. about 12 fish total on those. My buddy Mark caught a 19" which was the biggest.

We had the same luck jigging as you Muffy. We'd mark em, and get em to come up and take a sniff, but only caught 2 perch on jigs, both small.

and incase anybody was wondering, the new 4 wheelers with the power steering...are the cats meow!

Grizzly,Your friends are picking a good time to go to Myrtle Beach.Although we are experiencing a cold spell right now it will be rather nice later in January and on into February.
Where are they going to stay?

We stopped by our buddy Lyle's fish house tonight. He has his house on Eagle Lake. They had a nice pail of crappies. They were biting on minnows and wax worms.

Stan, I don't recall the name of the place they stay. It's right on the beach though and they've been going there for years.

They'll be there for the entire month of February.

It is just part time. I clean an office building in Detroit Lakes. It only ends up being about 7 hours a week. Oh well it gives me something to do.

Hey, Hey!

Made it off the lake! Dusty is going home with a nice limit of walleye/saugers tonight! That means he got his walleyes plus some saugers... he also is bringing home some of his favorite! The freshwater cod, poor mans lobster, the pout straps! grin

I left our house for a few minutes to do some plowing & to pull some jerk out of a snowbank with the plow truck & when I came back to the fish house the kids where kicking a big fat burbout out of the house! grin

I'll load some pictures in a minute here, time to clean some fish right now.

Oh pout are my favorite! Dad would always bring some home and boil it up for me, yum. Although if I would have known what they look like first, I probly wouldn't have tried it.

The first time I saw one was about 12 years ago. I was at LOW with Jeremy and a bunch of other people. I had one on the line and it put up a pretty good fight. Jeremy was on his knees ready to grab my big catch. Then he jumped back and said "I'm not grabing that thing. Here it was a good sized pout. Larry took it and it wrapped around his arm. He tossed it on the ice and it slithered like a snake. It still like it even after seeing it.
