I have been wanting to get a 22 Hornet for years and I have decided that now is the time. Who is making a good one now days? I have looked at the Ruger (the walnut stocked sporter barrel) as well as the CZ 527 (the American or the Full Stocked version). They are both similarly priced. Are there any other similarly priced options out there?

Savage has a new single shot model 40 varmit rifle. I think it comes in 22 Hornet. I have only seen pictures. That CZ 527 FS is a beauty.

Not sure why anyone would want a 22 hornet. A .223 is much more capable and the ammo costs pretty much the same.

22 hornets are FUN and versatile. I use mine for varmint shooting and squirrel hunting.

I have a BRNO 22 hornet for sale.... pm me if interested.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Newguy, this would be more expensive, but if you want a really beautiful and VERY fun gun, try the Browning M-1885 Low Wall single shot. I haven't gotten to shoot mine enough to know what it's going to like yet, but I STILL love the slender little sliver of a rifle. Have 2 bullet moulds for tree squirrel loads, some FP 46 gr. Speers, 45 gr. FPHP Hornadys, some 40 gr. Nos. BT's and Hor. VMx's, 45 gr. Rem. PSP's and some Hornady .224" Hornet bullets. I think I can shoot anything around these parts with one of these with total satisfaction.

The Hornet should make me a better shooter, too, due to its wind sensitivity, compared to the bigger, faster stuff.

Just thought I'd tempt you to break the budget ... like I did?
