Anyone play with it - intrigues me (academically) but I am in no way contemplating a purchase.
I am such an incomplete fly fisherman - I figured I would ask.

i have it and like it for steelhead and big browns. i used it once in salt water but opted for a saltwater line w/o the texture, it could just be that i didnt have stripping guards on and i cut thru my skin a few times

Hunting Fool-- yup, that's one of two issues with this line, especially in salt water. You do need a stripping glove, or at least those finger dodads--whatever they are called. The other issue is you must clean the line regularly as the tecture picks up stuff, again this is mostly a saltwater issue. The line works as advertised, it shoots great, floats great, and will lengthen your casting.

Thanks guys.
Anyone recommend a good fly fishing forum?
I fish primarily steelhead (great lakes) and small mouth bass. Girlfriend is into it now - she wants to learn to tie flies as it's "arts and crafts" and she want's to fish. Gave her my rig (Reddington RedFly2 combo) and got myself a new Sage Vantage.
It's something I want to stick with.

Thanks - interesting review. It's 2 years old - I wonder if (any) they've changed the line since then - re the sinking?

One of my buddies bought a sharkskin line this summer. He threw streamers out of my boat one day and it is the loudest line I've ever heard. I wouldn't fish one if it was given to me.

So true! Tried it at the denver fly show and knew instantly the line makes noise sliding thru the guides. What fish would swin to that noise and take a fly?

They make a lot of varieties of Sharkskin now...
It will add distance to anyone that can shoot a little line...
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.
