Yeah our old shack on the iron range had the poor mans version of that, a rain barrel grin

We'd use that water for cleaning dishes & stuff.

Hey welcome Cracker, I hope you are finding some entertainment in the posts here on the campfire forums.

For our water out at camp I plan to sink a PVC pipe in the ground maybe 12 to 16 feet with small holes drilled in the bottom 2 feet or so. Probably something like a 6" to 8" pipe. Basically a shallow well casing. Then I'll drop a 1" black pex tube down in there about 10' or so & we'll draw the water up out of the casing with the hand pump that Dusty bought for the camp.

It still wont be drinking water but it should be some really good water for cleaning up & doing dishes. It should work in the winter too with the pump pulling from below the frost line. (maybe grin )

Linda and I went to Barnes&Noble book store yesterday.Naturally the first thing we do when we get in the door is hit the in-house Starbucks.Stepped up in line behind a young Marine in Class A's who had just finished ordering some type of coffee drink.I told the girl at the register to put whatever he had ordered on my tab.Had a chance to chat with him for a few while waiting on our orders.Nice young man.Had already been two tours in Iraq.Always thank "our guys" for their service and buy them a drink.
I received my reloading dies and 100 each 170 grain Hornady "Interlock" bullets for the 30-30 I bought Christmas eve.I just ordered them from Midway Tuesday night and they get here today.Good service.
Bright sunshiny and 53 degrees here today.
Cracker, welcome to the best part of 24HR.

Your class is unmatched Stan. We need a county full of men like you, it would truly be a better place to live.

Speaking of class....I mounted the rings and my Redfield scope on the new Ruger tonight. It looks good. I really like the way this rifle carries.

I stepped out on the deck loaded the mag too. She feeds like a dream.
