the vexilars have interference canceling ability, so when you hit the i.r. button it takes care of it. ive been using a vexilar for 10years now, i still use my old fl-8 and to be honest i wont fish on the ice without it.

You'll probably have interferance with two, no matter the brand if your in the same portable.

acutally if you have two vexilars you will be fine, my wifes cousin has a fl-8 too, and we fished in a 6x8 portable with both our flashers on and all you have to do is push the gain knob in and it takes care of everything otherwise you both would see the same thing. you only need to do it to one of the vexilars not both. if you go to vexilars web page you can pull up owners manuals via pdf and go down to page 10 it tells you everything in that aspect.

I wonder if the dudes I was fishing with knew that. They tried it with 2 hbirds and had interferance. Probably some type of setting for that too.

Don't know how big a problem this is from personal experience. I've found that most units, including the Ice-55, have a "noise rejection" adjustment for such a scenario. So, I suppose it's fairly common.

At one point I turned the gain way up and my cell phone rang. It was my wife. She was all freaked out because the garage door kept opening and closing.
