I don't collect them, but I have an Arisaka in 6.5 that's been sporterized. Many were brought back after WWII. My grandpa bought the one I have in the '60's as a deer rifle.

I had an Arisaka given to me by a guy I worked with. It had been rechambered to .300 Savage and dropped into a Monte Carlo style Fajen wood stock. Had no use for it and parted company with it shortly afterwards. An old WWII memorabilia guy at one of the gun shows told me .300 Savage was a fairly common rechambering for these guns after the war. Don't know if that true or not-it's just what I was told.

I tried to buy one on a different hunting board a few weeks ago as a den wall hanger. Someone beat me to it.. So maybe someday.

when I was a kid they were common sporterized.....IIRC one common conversion was to rechamber the 6.5s to a wildcat based on the .257 Roberts case. they good prewar actions were hell for strong and people chambered them for all kinds of stuff.
I rarely see them now.... and one with the dust cover, AA sight and mum intact would be a heck of a nice piece to have.

I saw one of the 6.5's once that had been made into a Mannlicher style rifle. Light handy rifle, nice work and not bad looking. It was quite reasonable. I looked at it for over a year before deciding to buy it, and of course when I got to the shop it was gone.

I have a type 38 carbine that my Great Uncle brought back. My Grandfather had it converted to 6.5X257. It shoots surprisingly well. I also have a type 38 training rifle complete with bayonet. I picked it up at a church auction. Not sure what the heck I'm going to do with it, but it was the only thing I could see that interested me. If you get a good one, they are quite a bit of fun. My Uncle used his 7.7 on antelope in Wyoming last year.
