Hi Guys,
I just came over from the savage site for some info. I have a model 38 and would like to know if I should restore it or sell it for parts. Right now I know it at least needs the complete bolt and carrier. Let me know what you think.
Thanks Fred

Fred; I think you will find that a complete usable bolt is going to be the hardest part to find and that if you try to part it out many of the parts might not sell, but then some might suprise you. For some reason a lot of these seem to have missing bolts, I have run into several. There is one piece on these bolts that seems prone to breakage. Numrich has stripped bolts but they do not have all the parts needed to make a complete bolt and the total to buy every thing they do have is $172.60. The bare breech bolt is $70.60 - if you had a broken one with all the other parts it might be worht it.
