I guess all of you heard the story of the dynamite and the black lab dog on the ice?

Yep.

Dunno if it's true but it's kind of funny.

Well the boys didn't do so good out on the ice yesterday. Oh they had a great time, plenty of fun but not su much for fish.

Sounded like a couple of keeper walleye, couple northern just under the slot & a couple of eelpout.

(Which was great for Dusty because he loves them)

grin

I think we are heading over to the igloo this weekend Dave. We are doing a weekend over at Cyrus the weekend after so we have to check out that side of the lake now. Is Dusty still fishing today? hopefully they get some better fish. maybe the weather coming will change to a wicked bite out there. There was a time sunday late afternoon when i had 2 lines going down and les did too at the same time. i think we got 3 out of the 4 fish that time. all nice ones. Electronics help alot when you can see the fish down there.

T-zone, the DNR is trying to increase the size of Northerns in the state while cutting down on the number of the hammerhandles we have.

Some of the lakes have really been showing a quality improvement without the constant little ones taking your gear.

oop, I missed your post there tzone.

Like bigdrift said.

slot is 30 to 40 inches. Anything from 30 to 40 has to go back, you can keep one over 40, no more than 3 all together I believe (LOTW)

Thanks guys. Is that state wide, or lake specific?

30-40 isn't so bad. I throw those back anyway. Well, 30 I'd probably keep. To me 25-30 is perfect. Big enough to clean, and not tough old buggers.

Dave, aren't Eelpout in the Cod Family? Should be decent eating?

Eelpout is the best. Dad said he is actually going to share some with me this time.

Dad called me last night, Lonnie just got done cooking lutefisk. They were having that, potatoes and lefse out in the fish house. Sounded like they were having fun.

Never had lutefisk. sick May try it in early Feb though. eek The village of Iola, WI is having their annual Winterfest which includes a lutefisk supper. I'll really go for the swedesh meatballs and deserts. Heard to many horror stories about lutefisk. If you search on the campfire there's a large thread about it.
