I recently bought a gun with a Burris Fullfield II, 1.75x5x?.
How is the quality of this scope? Does anyone have any experience with it?

How does it look when YOU look thru it?
Or is everything just too rosey after the Vikes win?

It looks fine. I've never had one and was wondering about them. I like the reticle...it's a heavy duplex on the sides and bottom, and real thin on the top vertile line, like a german ret.
Glass seems nice and clear, nice eye releife.
It's a heavy scope, it's on QR rings, and noticibly lighter without the scope on the gun.

tzone,
I have a 1.75x5 FFII (USA made FWIW) on my Tikka T3 30-06. I found it to be much clearer & brighter than my son's new Leupy 2-7x33 VX-2 (a sample of one doesn't prove much though). I didn't want a cumbersome scope and it turned out to be a great match.
Hope you're as happy with it as I am with mine.

I have an old one, its seen time on 2 12ga slug guns, a 416 rigby, a 338wm and now on a rem youth rifle. To say its been a beater work horse for 20 years would be an understatement.
I always thought it was optically pretty clear (especially for what it cost) but I have generally thought that scopes like a 4x33/4x32 or a 1.75x5x32 were better dawn and dusk scopes than the 20mm objective scopes like the fullfield. But I can't say that an animal ever walked away from me and a 20mm obj scope to to inability to see in low light.

Where do you find if they're made in U.S.A.?

Look on the eyepiece. It will say either "Made In USA" or "Made In Phillipines."
In my experience the Phillipine FFII's are at least as good and maybe a little better. This isn't surprising, since Burris installed the same machinery in the Phillipines as they used in Colorado to make the US scopes.

I'm thinking it's only a few years old, so she's probably Phillipeno then. Thanks. T

I'm not sure that the 1.75 x 5 Fullfield IIs were ever made in the Phillipines. For awhile after they set up the facility over there, they continued to make them in the USA as well. Some models they never made in the Phillipines and I think when they finally quit making them here, they just discontinued the 1.75 x 5. I have one and it is a great scope. I wish I had several more.

I love mine for optics and it will put up with the recoil of my biggest guns. My only complaint was the lack of direction arrows on the turrets for sighting in. I don't like to guess when using expensive 416 Rigby ammo. Now its on a 375. I felt the eye relief was a little short for my 460, I went Leupold on that. You can find them used for sale for cheap and are a very good bargain.

tzone-while I've not used that Burris I have had 4 of their 3-9's. All 4 (2 old and 2 newer) have been wonderful!
Personally I think you've got yourself a mighty fine piece of glass.
I use their 3-9 FF2's with the BP's in them a lot and totally love them. I find them to be tough, repeatable, clear, and very user friendly (IE good eye relief).
And I like their BP system better than Leo's LR dotz. Mainly cause they have one more setting so I can go to the longer ranges easier.
My only wish and I know I've mentioned this b4 but...I wish they made a 6x38 with the BP in it and that it would weigh in @ 9-10 oz's. If they did that they'd totally own me...

Very happy with my two FFIIs (2-7, 4.5-14). Both have the B-Plex. The 2-7 only weighs 12oz. I would like to see the new SixX 2x-12x-40mm with the B-Plex E1 reticle. A bit heavier than I'd prefer, but 2-12 would be really nice on my 338-06.

I have to suspend my recommendation for Burris scopes.
Mine developed an issue with the POI moving as much as 4" at 100 yards as you changed the magnification. A trip back to Burris for "repair" and it came back (with a list of parts replaced) in the same condition as I sent it without any improvement being discernable. This inspires zero confidence. Its a shame since I liked much about it otherwise.
I've emailed them to see what they can do to make this right....
