benelli sbe2, 28" bbl. rhino .660 choke Nitro company shells 51013 4x5x7 1/2 hevi shot loads i think (nitrocompany.com) aimpoint micro red dot scope
consistently puts an honest 225 pellets on a 10" paper plate at an honest 40 yards. i think i could actually do a little better with the nitro load he recommends for the sbe2, but i'm not sure i want any better than this
Been looking for years for the perfect turkey gun and finally found it last winter with this combination. Those nitro shells are pricey but worth it when you see the results.

taz, I'll second that Star Dot 676 for the 835. They are hard to find, but truly one of the best chokes in that gun than any I've seen. You may want to keep an eye out on Gun Broker, they come up from time to time. The SD paired with H13 6s is one mean combo. The new H13 loads coming out should be awesome in that set-up.
Have a Good One,
loder I'll third it. Reloader was the guy that turned me on to this choke. I'll show you why the guy was exactly right in telling me to buy one. I now have 2 Star Dot chokes. The first one I bought from a guy for $20. The 2nd one I won off gunbroker for a whopping $10 shipped to my door that was a brand new choke. I just bought it to have. The 1st one shoots so well that I can't see any choke beating it in my gun. Here's my 835. The gun now has a Bushnell red/grn dot scope on it. And you said you wanted to see results. I have them. 40yds 10" circle back to back shots To better show you how dense that pattern is here's a 3 circle from the last picture above. The Hevi-13 3.5" 2 and 1/4oz load of 6 shoot very tight in this setup. The new 7's ought to push 300 shot in a 10" at 40yds in my opinion.

Here's a picture of the Star Dot choke in the package. They are hard to find, but worth their weight in gold. The last one on gunbroker went for over $40 counting shipping. Word has apparently gotten out judging by the price of that auction.

Sounds like a good one chief. I like to bring out the old ones from time to time. That old Stevens 20 actually throws a mean pattern with handloads, better than most rigged out 12s.
Have a Good One and Good Luck as well,
loder

Thanks for grabbing that Star Dot for me, DVD. You're a class act.
Can't wait to do some patterning in a couple of weeks. Then wait till April to put it to use!!

Do they make these for the Remchoke system? Yes. But for some reason the Star Dot for the Remington 870 I have isn't nothing to write home about. I would save your money. The Star Dot chokes seem to shine in the Winchester and Moss 500 that took the old Browning Invector choke. They also shine in the Moss 835.

I use a Jelly Head plus Nitro shells in my SBE2 24" barrel. Killed 8 birds with it last yr. About 200 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yds, counted 125-150 in the actual head and neck of my target at 40 yds. Furthest shot about 45 yds.
I used a MAD choke in Browning Gold 3 1/2 26" barrel with nitro shells, same results but not quite as many in the head and neck and a slightly large pattern at 40yds. Acounted for 25-30 birds over last 4-5 yrs up to 58 yds and as close as 8 steps.
Just picked up a Rhino Choke for my Extrema2 and have not yet tried it out but I expect similar results.
I really like the Nitro Shells. THe Hevi 13 shot looks very promising. Lee

For the last 20 years it's been a Rem 1100 12 guage, 26" full choked barrel. Using Winchester XX 2-3/4" #4, #5 or #6. Never has let me down. Killed lots of birds with it. I finally "upgraded" this year and will be using a 12ga Browning Gold Hunter. My dad is a tried and true believer in his 870 Express 12ga. w/ Undertaker choke and Winchester Supreme #5's. Nothing is safe out to 45 yards. These birds were taken in the spring 2008 season. I use a Remington 870 SM and a Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike choke in .665 constriction with Winchester Elite Extended number 6's. It will consistently put over 180 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards. I know some will do better but I'm not sure that I would want it any tighter than that for fear of missing at closer ranges.

Those are some sweet patterns. I'm gonna need to pull mine out of the safe and start getting them ready. Upgraded to the 1187 SM turkey gun last spring, do any of you use 3.5" shells in your supermags or do most stick with the 3" shells?
I've got a Rhino .660 and a Jellyhead .660 choke for the 1187 SM, also have an 1187 SP with 21" barrel and an 1187 SP with 26" barrel. Figured the 23" barreled SM would be the best of all of them.
