Just trolling for that old musky hunter, "mercedvh". It's an odd thing .... sometimes, when I see a nice old Winchester Model 88 at the toy store, I wonder if that displaced northwoodsman out in California ever found one to take home. Or did he just go nuts one day and remortgage the villa for an original model 71? Are you out there? How ya been? I saw two model 88's in a rack last week-end, a .308 and a .284, for $999 each! ( No .358, as one might expect.) They were in very nice shape, but dang!! Then again, it didn't seem quite so unreasonable after strolling over to check out the binoculars.
