Bought this in my youth, probably late 70s I'd guess.

Its been a safe queen all these years and the silver sides are tarnished by now, Its been loaded, but never fired....

I have about given up on safe queens and almost used it on a deer this year but never got time to shoot it to verify zero....

I"m guessing this gun will never have a lot of value, so whats the consensus?? Shoot it and be done with it, or keep it unfired?

Thanks, Jeff

Shoot it. The Winchester commemoratives aren't worth much more than a standard rifle. I pick up a new Legendary Frontiersman 38-55 last year and am enjoying shooting it.

Good advice. Had just seen a John Wayne one in Cabelas for almost 2000... given that I paid maybe 375 for mine....

Will use it this fall on a deer then.

Jeff

Mine is a Wells Fargo, and it was bought to be used. I bought my son Cody a Buffalo Bill (W.F. Cody) commemorative before he was 2 years old, it had been used and I think I paid $125 for it. He's 22 now and killed his first deer with it.
