I found a piston & rings, ordered this morning. If it gets here by friday we'll still make the old timers run. Bill, yeah it was running a hot plug. NGK website calls out a long 9 plug, This sled was running short reach 7's. Also Pam's dad was mixing 20:1 I'm sure he had to run that hot plug at 20:1 to keep if from fouling to the point it wouldn't spark. The short reach 7's he had in there were black. I just replaced what he had been running with a brand new pair of the same plugs but I mixed closer to 40:1 Leaner mix with that hot plug I'm sure is likely what did it in. Dammit. Well, I'll be picking up a pair of 9's for plugs & I'll stick the new piston & rings in & keep a close eye on it. I'll be checking the crank seal on the PTO side too.
Something clever here.

Amazing what a wrong plug and lean fuel mix can do to a 2 stoke engine.

No I haven't been to the fish house for too long now, if you go fishing this week please do go out to my house & check on it for me. I'm kind of worried with the talk of slush & flooding here & there.

I'm doing fine, Griz. Thanks for asking. Been keeping busy with home projects since hunting season ended. Gotta get finished before the weather warms up. Once the boat gets her bottom wet the house is on it's own. Ron

We fished out at morris point last weekend and we had 2+" on top of the ice where we were. I have heard the road isn't open yet out of 5 mile but i heard fishing was good out there again. Get that old buggar running again, you gonna race it in the minnesota hill classic?

Nice Scott! Is that bottom one a sauger? Looks like a couple females there too. 6 more weeks until the soft water run up the river. I can't wait! Maybe Grizzly_Bill will come with me.

Very nice looking fish Scott.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

Dang Scott! I almost forgot to post this up, sorry. I'll try to find the sunrise pictures too. I wish we'd have measured his length, it was a long sucker. Just over 30#. First King ever. I'm still amazed at the size of the tail on that thing, it was as big as my head when it was all opened up. Power, makes lots of power. [img:center] [/img]

Thanks. Yeah, I'm a walleye nut. I can't get big ones consistantly here though. Talking to other guys that fish the same system I do...Either they're full of it, or I'm doing it wrong. I can' believe they're full of it, fisherman don't lie.

Tom, All we have here is walleyes...no sauger. What we do have are two different strains, River spawners and reef spawners. I think that blue looking fish at the bottom is a reef spawner. We tend to catch them ov the gravel bars in April full of spawn when the bulk of the fish are up the rivers. There were planted by mistake quite a few years ago...but its seems one of those things that worked out.
The tails on those things are like outboards Its our joke..."that one is a 75hp Johnson" That is a dandy fish Tom!
