Where do you guys get your .260 brass?
Neck up 243?
Dose the stretch at the mouth shorten the life.
If I make the move and buy this 260 my thought was to start with a bag of lapua brass.

Lapua brass is a good place to start when you need .260 brass.

I have never had a problem with Rem. 260 brass. I use it for long range matches with good success. I have also fire formed to 260 A.I. and have never lost a piece of it.

I use RP brass for a lot of my 260 loads, it works okay. But when I need it to group its best, I run necked up Lapua 243 brass.
Once it all shakes out, I figure on a good barrel, Lapua brass shaves about 1/4 to 3/8 MOA at best off of group size.
There's a few loads I've ran over the years in my 260's that has always worked in ALL the 260's and barrels I've had. I can post them all again if interested...

RP works for me. I'd like to see those loads too.

Contrary to the other posters, I have had trouble with Rem 260 Brass.. I bought a batch when it first came out...it had very poor quality control..
since I prefer Win brass in most instances.. ( with no rational reason) I picked up some 7/08 Win Brass and necked that down..
I have picked up tons of 308 range brass, and have also used that..so in reality I only bought one bag of Rem brass which was a disaster.. 100 rounds of 7/08 Win Manuf which has been great.. and probably have 500 plus rounds of 308 range brass, that I use for my 260s...
in retrospect, to the above posters good luck.. I must have just had an intial batch that the QC was below standards..
308 Rem brass has presented no problems.. and has given stellar service life..its all been free...and with annealing, neck sizing and a Redding Body die, some of this brass has seen 20 reloads and is still going strong..

Okay..... Adair's pet 260 loads that have proved themselves in MULTIPLE rifles for accuracy and speed (Cliff Notes version) RP brass, Fed 210M spark plug (plain 210s work too) and 47-47.5 grains of either H4350 or IMR4350 under either a 100 grain Partition or Ballistic tip. Neither is a top end load (getting close though) but thats in the ball-park where all the ballistic black magic and voodoo starts to jive with the constellations. H4350 runs a little faster and cleaner IMO, but more than once I've had to sub IMR due to supply demands (like when Bam Bam the Magic Negro got elected) In 22" tubes that load usually spanks 3200 FPS (3150 is a sure bet on a decent tube) If I lived in a state that had JUST a deer season, I'd never need another load. It shoots 25-06/270 flat out to 425, and seriously impresses critters (I've used the Partition enough to say that, the BT, not so much) 100 grain BTs out of my high mileage Model 7 (the horizontally strung group was barrel #3 from McGowen Precision that didn't shoot) The other tried and true load, thats never let me down in any gun is RP brass, Fed210, 45 grains of RL19, and a 140 Partition (they have a friggin BC of .490) Again in a 22" tube, this load is usually around 2730-2760FPS, and I can promise you, it'll flatten anything in the state of Montana better than you'd expect. I sub Hot-Cors and or Hornady Interlocks for a utility load, usually the Hot Cors are 25 FPS slower and dupe the Partitions pretty well out to 450 yards. Now you can stuff that load of RL19 into necked up Lapua 243 brass, with a Fed 210M and a 140 Sierra MatchKing and it'll scare you what you can hook up on out too 1000 prone with a sling (and how little drift there is on the back end of yardage on a windy day compared to a 308) I vary the charge until it hits right around 2725 FPS in a 22"er. That is the magic velocity where barrel harmonics and grooviness meet. Standard disclaimers apply... Like don't be a dumbass, work up these loads... It's been a long time since I've had a factory 260 tube. I've used SAAMI spec 260 reamers, and an older Kiff reamer in 6.5-08 that was fairly long throated. I've yet to meet a 6.5 load that didn't like being between .005-.010" off the leade, no matter the OAL. I still play with other bullets and loads from time to time... I've got tons of other loads that work in any ONE 260 I've come across, but the loads I just posted have always worked well in ALL of them. Ironically, bullets in the 120-130 weight range seem to like one load in one rifle, I've yet to hit on a load there that gets along with everyone in the safe. AND... This project... will be a toy 260 now, once I get around to giving the local gunsmith a big pile of cash. I'll probably do a low buck Steelhead blueprint (.600 muzzle in the Ti takeoff, and since I'm inletting, I'll use a Hollands lug) Any other questions, feel free to ask... I smoked all those 260 barrels in the name of science

I've always used RP brass. My current batch is shot out and based on this thread, I'm thinking of buying some Lapua .243 and necking up. Having never necked up a case, can someone please confirm that all I have to do is run the .243 through a .260 die?
thanks.

The other tried and true load, thats never let me down in any gun is RP brass, Fed210, 45 grains of RL15, and a 140 Partition (they have a friggin BC of .490) Again in a 22" tube, this load is usually around 2730-2760FPS, and I can promise you, it'll flatten anything in the state of Montana better than you'd expect. Now you can stuff that load of RL19 into necked up Lapua 243 brass, Which is it? I'm thinking '19.

Yup, just run a little lube around the inside of the neck for easy expansion. Lube the rest of the case per normal. Wah La .260 cases. Fire form as usual and you're ready to go.
Aim for the exit hole.

Dan, you might want to try this load. It works in all three of my 260's.
Rem. Brass CCI BR-2 Primer 46.0 gr of H4350 120 gr. Nosler B.T. Velocity runs 3000 fps and a little change in all the barrels. Again standard disclaimers apply. If you are using Lapua brass back it off about a grain. That load poleaxes deer. If I lived out west on the plains or antelope hunted, that would be the load I would use.
