A stock Ruger 77/22, picked up used at my local gunsmiths. I had to give it a serious cleaning, as it had been neglected. Prostaff 2x7, I was going to go with a straight 4x but they were out of the prostaff 4x and I didn't like the other available scopes. The 2x7 was about the same money, and I like it. I think it's about 7lbs.

That is a classy rig. I love a good .22 rifle. No man's battery is complete without at least one good .22 rifle.

Great way to spend a day. New rifle and a successful hunt.
From those head shots it looks like you shoot it well.

I don't do it as well as I did back in the day, but it's still a lot of fun. I have been wanting one of those rifles for a long time and this one jumped out at me.

You did great. Those gray rascals never seem to stop moving.
Your fine rifle makes my old Marlin semi-auto .22LR rifle look pitiful. But it sure shoots well.

Back in the day, a Marlin 22 was what I used. It was a great shooter. It looked like an M1, carbine. My dad bought it for me and I loved it. The only problem was it had a short magazine tube that had to come all the way out of the rifle to load. It held 10 LR rounds. I was a clumsy kid and would drop it while trying to load those little bitty bullets. There is no telling how many thousands of rounds I put through that rifle, going out and shooting it was my favorite pastime.
