Gentlemen,

Just let me know when you are coming........we have had a lot of rain here, so the bush will be crawling with 'roos by our mid-winter (July) but grass will be high, though.

You should be able to shoot a hundred apiece in 3 days...as well as the odd feral goat and as many foxes and cats that we see. laugh

Oh come on Ingwe, let's go. Sounds like one could get quite a shooting work-out down there.

By the way very beautiful animals all. Someone asked about hunting leopards with dogs; it is legal in Namibia at this time. Other than that I don't know.

Not true.

At the moment, you can hunt them with hounds in Zim and Mozambique only.

Wow! Well, that's that. My understanding was it was a growing trend for awhile.

McCray,
I have dog hunts for Leopard in Zimbabwe. Success rate is very high at about 90% with dogs and its a real exciting hunt..I think RSA still has dog hunts for leopard, but success rate in RSA on Leopard is probably less as a rule.

I don't know if Tanzania is legal or not but it would make no difference as dogs or livestock and Tetsi flys don't get along. So that would be a moot point anyway...

I wouldl love to hunt Lion with dogs as you are practically assured a charge, you can only push a Lion so hard then he will invaribly hunt you..A Leopard will also only be pushed so far, then he will wait and charge you with dogs. It is not a hunt for the faint of heart..I would want my double rifle on such a Lion hunt and a 10 ga. for Leopard...

He weighed 181 pounds and measured right at 8'1" nose to tail. I was hunting 2x1 with a client who killed one that weighed 202 and measured 8'4" nose to tail. Here is a pic: [Linked Image]
