Anyone running a Snugpak jacket? Found a reversible for $81 shipped. Figured I couldn't go wrong at this price. MtnHtr

Where did you find that price? That's a good jacket.

Vermont's Barre Army Navy Store had them, I think I got the last one under that sale!
Seriously, I'm kinda surprised nobody here has posted a review on Snugpak jackets?
Kifaru used to sell a similar jacket except with a hood, made for them by Snugpak, called an airpak jacket. It retailed for over $200 if I'm not mistaken.

I've had one for a couple of years and they are excellent jackets. I use mine primarily as an insulating layer under an outer jacket. The down side to hem is the nylon outer, it will look like a sieve if you go any where near a campfire. Also the outer is not that durable; its not junk by anymeans, but its not hard wearing like say tincloth... As I said, I use mine as an insulated layer or around camp ect and it is excellent... I've not seen them for that good of a price, but have been quite tempted to pull the trigger. I'm strongly considering one of these (or something very similar) for an insulating layer. My Puffball has sold me on the ability of these vs. heavier fleece.

About like the puffball, thermawrap? Yep, but in more neutral colors and the one I have handled they seemed a bit more durable as well. That said, I haven't hurt (two small holes from campfires) my puffball in the 5 years I've used it.

I believe that Snugpak still makes the airpak jacket. I picked one up last year, on sale from BQM. It is reversible from OD to black. I use it under a shell if it is snowing and very cold. I'll skip the shell if it is not snowing, but cold. I find it to be very warm. It packs small enough to make me happy. I took it to Colorado this past fall for the second elk season. It never came out of my pack. I think you will be happy with your jacket, especially at that price.

Have had one for 5 years and find it to be a bit heavy but warm. Good insulation layer under a shell. Darn good price, if it fits grab it.
