I have some fly gear that is owned by a friend, who is computer illiterate. The listed things are:

Waterworks fly reel, Model F2, about 5 years old
Waterworks fly reel, Model F3, about 5 years old

Both of these have NEVER seen water and are suitable for saltwater. Have pics to send. Friend wants to know what they would sell for, as he is looking to get a ADL .223 for his daughter to start shooting and needs the money (like we all do around Christmas time).

I also have a couple of Orion reels by LL Bean and one fly rod from LL Bean.

Anyone care to stipulate what these reels would be worth? I have pics of the Waterworks fly reels and can get pics of my Orion fly reels.

Like him, I never went fly fishing but got two Orion reels and I plan to keep one of them just in case I go fly fishing, but may start flying for pan fish in the spring.

Let me know what you think these are worth? PM for details and I'll get back to you with more information or send pics.

Thanks.

valad,
You can get a new F2 for about $250 online and a new F3 for about $295. They sell for more than that at flyshops. The Orions sell from about $150 to about $250 according to which model you have.

They are worth some decent money if they are unused but finding a market for mid-priced fly equipment is the problem. You or your friend can list them on Ebay and hit a much bigger market although competition there keeps prices down a bit. At least you can find a seller online unless you can find a local flyfishing club or other outlet to get the word out.
