Good point.

The 6.0 superduty did not live up to it's reputation on our elk hunt trip.

Granted we faught the worse head wind I've ever driven in both there and back & our enclosed trailer was like a drag chute... and we did run fast... But, the truck dissapointed the hell out of us in the area of fuel economy for sure.

Not like my old 7.3 diesel. That thing was awesome.

Folks, out at chickenbuck we've got a stealthy young tamarack out in the parking area. Why is it stealthy? Because a few people have proven that they can not see it grin They back into it!!

laugh

Guess who backed into it last Sunday? shocked

Good ole uncle Dusty!!

We have talked about it... actually we have laughed about it... (sorry) then we talked about it & we have decided we will be painting that tree blaze orange to help people see it grin

Dad told me about the tree today. He told me he had to go out and do a little work on his pickup cuz something happened at Chickenbuck. The first thing I thought is that he hit the rock in front of the shack. grin

I'm suprised he told me. I guess he figured I would find out about it anyway. smile

he really could have got away with that one, we forgot about it grin

I can laugh because I've put the old brown ford up on top of that damn rock shocked

I busted the steering stabilizer shock off the truck!! Split it wide open & all the oil from the shock puked all over the rock. (in case you were wondering why the rock was black oil stained all summer)

grin

Dave...the 6.0's are a bit of a disappointment aren't they? We have one here in an F450 and it got real expensive at 85,000. Certainly not like the old 7.3's or 6.9's. I had a 6.9 that made 262,000 before I ever looked at the injectors or pump.

Ford will be coming out with a new, built in house diesel in the 2011 model. The old 7.3 was a decent engine, but everything after that, not so much. They also have a new 6+ liter gasser coming out this year that puts out 400HP. It will become the standard engine for the Super Duties.
