Is it too ambitious or too naive to look for an honest politician? Or simply a useful one?

If the Dalai Lama is at all intelligent, he is pretty disappointed with Obama right about now.

as always, Obama wants to have it both ways.....meeting with him without reallymeeting with him so as not to offend the Chicoms.

Agreed. Obama and his backers take the compromise bit way too far. Ah well, he will perhaps realize that by acting thus he angers his 'friends' and enemies all the more.

Haven't seen any photos of the DL being greeted with the prez. Poor showing is all to be said regarding this meeting.
Anybody catch what the DL had to say some time back when asked about guns? He's cool. In so many words he said...if someone pulls a gun on you it would be good to have one of your own.
The end of democracy, and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.

Could someone explain why anyone should give the Dalai Lama the time of day in the first place?

Could someone explain why anyone give the Dalai Lama the time of day in the first place? For the same reason they'd meet with the Pope, or any other religious leader. Why anyone would meet with Hussein, on the other hand, leaves me puzzled.

The Dalai Lama probably told the Bamster he was going to the mens room and scooted out the fire exit.

The Dalai Lama and his country are hard evidence that Red China uses its huge population as a weapon for invasion. The Chinese have built a very high railway (a military supply railway) to Tibet so thy can flood the country with Chinese immigrants.
There are now so many Chinese in Tibet that if a democratic vote was held in Tibet the majority of the people now lkiving there(immigranst from China) would vote that Tibet become subservient to Red China.
There is a lesson here for countrees bring in large numbers of Chinese immigants. Make sure they are not commies.
