I dunno about cost effectiveness but we ordered our MH food from Karst Sports.
http://www.karstsports.comWe needed #10 cans of food to put into ziplock bags and at the time, as I recall, it was hard to find MH freeze dried due to the large number of forest fires in the Lower-48. All or most all of their production was going to the fires.
Anyway, Karst was good and fast for us. Ya might wanna try 'em.
