A hunting buddy of mine is looking at packs. He narrowed his search to the Badlands 4500 and Blacks Creek Barbarian Featherlight. I saw where there is a post about the Barbarian, but have not found anything on the 4500. Has anyone here used either of these packs? If so what did you think?

Thanks for the info.

badlands zippers are bad. plus i sent one back once for repair and all they did was bar-tack the broken strap. i could have done that myself.

just my personal experience but if i am going to spend 400.00 bucks on something, it better be made in the U.S.A.

I have a Badlands 4500 and it is a good pack. I used it for a 8 day hunt last bow season and it performed well. I havent had any zipper issues yet. The only reason I bought it was because it was 70% off and too good of a deal to pass up. I am going to keep it as a backup/friend pack. My MR Crew Cab is on the way.

As far as the Barbarian...I have seen it but have not packed with it. It looks nice and its light. The price is good. Heres a thread on it. ---> https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...s/3813926/Re_Blacks_Creek_Barbarian_Feat

My $.02 is Badlands quality is down. I used a 2200 for a half of week on a elk hunt and 4-broken zippers, 1-was stuck closed, belt would pop open when climbing, junk! They gave me a full refund, but if I had not taken my big pack I would have been hosed.

I think I will try to steer him towards a Kifaru G1 Siwash. Same ballpark as far as the price goes. Its made in the USA and he can put his hands on my ZXR to get an idea of the fit ect. To make up for the smaller size he could add a pod or pouch.

I would still like to hear more about the 4500 and BC pack in case he has his mind set.

Thanks
