I am looking at buying a new press and would like a turret type, currently using 3 different single stages and have for many years. I like the looks of the Redding turret press but also like the C-H H press. Would be using the press for 308 match ammo and 257 Roberts varmint ammo. Any opinions on these two presses would be appreciated.

I don't use a turrent press, but one handloader I know uses the Redding T-7 with auto primer feed system. She has been quite satisfied with it.
I use a Dillon 550B for handgun ammo and some rifle cartridges and have been completely satisfied with it. This, however, is not a turret press; but in my judgment, a better choice for high-volume metallic cartridge reloading than any turrent press on the market. Suggest you give it a hard look before going to a turret press.

I use an RCBS ammo-master and love it. Load my match suff and hunting stuff on it. No problems.

Buy a Redding T-7 and be done with it. Like you, I have three presses, one of which is a T-Mag II. However, the T-7 is the mother of all presses. I have seen it on sale for around $165.00, but the usual price is $179.00 or so.

I'm partial to the Forster Co-Ax. Die changes are real handy, the primer seater is super ( but slow! ), and loads good, straight ammo.

I'm with Jeff on the co-ax press, except they do not do well with Vickerman seaters, which is what I use for all cartridges... Use a different press for the seaters, but using standard dies, as I used to would make me choose the co-ax first and really would not change a thing about the presses I currently use. art
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

My first choice for a turret type press would be the Dillon. I haven't used the new Redding but a Dillon 550B would be very hard to beat.Rick.

Good point Art, I should have mentioned that. Vickerman's are definitely out, as are Redding micrometer style seaters longer than .308 length cartridges. I use Forster micrometer seaters in mine.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the replys! I will drive down to the Sportsmans Warehouse today and pick up the T-7.
The three presses I am currently using are Forster's and I love em, but I do alot of different cals and want one set up the two I do the most of.
Thanks again, Nathan

When I get to be governor of the world, I will have a Forester Co Ax.....once you see one in action, you will fall in love with it. A very ingenious press. Fast and easy to use. Also, shell holders are a thing of the past using it.
