I was looking online at Marks Outdoors used guns he has 2 S&W 629 44 mags with 4 inch barrels for sale. One is listed as a 629-1 the other as a 629-4 other than grip style is there any other differance between these handguns? AMRA

AMRA For one thing, the -4 will have the endurance package which started in 1989 with the -2E. The -4 also comes drilled and tapped for a scope. MIM parts came later, so neither of those guns have any MIM parts.

I agree with TRH. I would much rather have a dash 4 than a 1. Much better gun, IMO.

The 629-4 is actually a much preferred revolver by many.
Good choice on the 4in. too! I carry the same and took my buck with it just this last season.
Enjoy........

Depends on how you use it. The -4 is more desirable if you plan to run it hot. If you plan to treat it like a 44 Special, see if you can drive the price down on the -1.

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

I've got the -3 in a 4 inch barrel, I love it. You'll be happy with the gun.
Deal with it.

The great old S&W guns do move fast. Did he say how much it sold for ? Thanks

I would be pretty pissed off if I'd drove all the way over there and they'd already sold it after saying they'd hold it.
