You just wait Tzone, i will make stronger cocktails for you next time. bringing 2 bottles to finish. We'll get you pickled. just remember what happened to that swamp buck out there! I don't think they could get much stronger. Well, maybe if you skipped the juice. Was he pickled? We thought the swamp squid got him.

Does a flying bear chit in the woods?
Only if it's ok with Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris once kicked a chicken buck in the chin. Its decendants are known today as giraffes.

I had to play hooky yesterday from work to do this. We probably caught about 20 walleyes in all, from 16"-26". It was a fun day, but fishing got slow about 10:30 AM. We had to work for them then. Fun though. 18", jig/minnow [img:left] [/img] 21", jig/minnow [img:left] [/img] 17" jig/minnow [img:left] [/img] Here's one for you bass guys, Bill Dance style 16.25" jig/minnow, [img:left] [/img]

Then as the weather warmed up, the fishing shut down, but we managed a few more. I have now idea how big this thing is but it has to be about 32+" long, over 20 pounds for sure. [img:left] [/img] This one we actually measured. 35" long, but we don't know the weight. Dudes in the boat next to us figured 30# or so. I don't know who wanted it to be back in the water more, me or the fish. Fun to catch, but hard on the equipment. [img:left] [/img] One more for the road. 26", full of spawn, so probably around 8# [img:left] [/img] We can't seem to crack the 26" mark on this strech of river.

Pretty good day for a first timer. Good thing Chuck Norris wasn't around. He just stands on shore and yells "Here fish" and they come a runnin.

I had been there before, but that was my friends first trip. We had fun. packed a cooler full of goodies, and sat there all day. Most guys will head down as close to the dam as they can get, but we were about 100 yds from the boat landing and did as well or better than anybody we talked to. It was funny to see $60K boats back into the water, and not even fire up theire motor. Just trolling motor to the spot.

You lucky dog Tzone!! lots of fun there! I haven't gotten out yet but the time is coming once the fish start to snap. A buddy was out yesterday and got 7 sturgeon in the rainy. Hoping next weekend staying up at the cabin and hopefully fish will be biting along with the cocktails...

Did you use the landing off of Riverside by the Dairy Queen?

Did you use the landing off of Riverside by the Dairy Queen? Yep. Lots of room for boats there. It is a real nice set up. Probably 8 lanes to launch out of. It was $5 a boat, so they probably paid for that landing 10 times over, durring the last few years. I was hoping one of those cats was going to be a stergeon, but the luck of the Irish wasn't with me. I might go again next weekend if I can get away. It will be a zoo though. bet there'll be 500+ boats next weekend.

Hey Buschy, is the walleye run going yet in Rainy? I would imagine it is much like it was in De Pere. The best is yet to come though really. the water was only 41*. The females were full of spawn still, and the males weren't milking yet. Last time I went the boat needed to be hosed off afterwards. Lots of cigarette smoking walleyes that day.

the walleyes are very slow on the Rainy right now. My buddy was hoping yesterday was the day but only got 2 and then 7 sturgeon. water is between 35-37 right now. starting to get a bit muddier with run off but not too bad yet. good thing is lots of time before season closes yet.

Need about 5-6 more degrees before things heat up. Water wasn't too dirty yesterday, but with rain coming, it will be.

The Wisconsin River here is fairly wide open today. Still lots of ice up in the backwaters to come down though.

Early April is when I start to do well there Bill. The problm with the WI is the opposite of De Pere. You can't catch many big enough to keep.
20-50 fish aren't uncommon. 15"+ fish are though.
